Yeh Damion Drumz pointed him out to me, really feelin his stuff. Mad skills!

Here in the UK we've got the Jungle Drummer who is also insane, have a look on youtube.

I don't think KJ Sawka has been to the UK to play yet, if him and the Jungle Drummer hooked up and did a set that would be rinseout meltdown time...

KJ is nice on the hats especially. He does have a backing beat a lot of the time I noticed, and he plays over the top. I like the fact that he's using a sampler and triggering different sounds while he's playing.

Jungle Drummer is really really tite for hours at a time, and he also plays full amens and other jungle breaks. He doesn't really use a backing track but has a DJ or two there to loop intros to tunes that he drums over.

Both of them are heavy in their own way I think

it is a little weird thinking of him playing with a hammered dulcimer and a keyboardist, i know the hammered dulcimer who plays with him and he is a little on the hippie side and a bit older, but he is involved with some electronic acts around the west, could be ok, I guess I will have to wait and see them in action.

Went to see this cat in Philly 3-4 weeks ago... It's nice to see. I'm assuming live jungle "bands" appear more frequently in the UK, as opposed to the US... So, it's a nice change of pace, and dude's definitely nasty. Not easy to slap out an Amen @ 180 bpm, so props to him,cuz from what I saw: dude's sick. smiley

I can only imagine what the excitement level was in the Golden Era, when everyone was pushing the limits of those samples. So much great music was born then!

Just picked up an MPC5000 and sampled the Amen break directly from the 45. Been using those drums for years, but wow what an experience anyway!
