Everytime I go to download a file, the download window closes immediately, and the file doesn't download. It opens up the window, then closes it. Is this a viral problem or something? My anti-virus shit is out of date. someone help!

yeah. they didn't. I'm on I.E. It's not an internet problem. It's like something is making the window closed.

Have you tried pressing control alt and delete to see what processes are happening that could affect the box closing? If its not a strange virus (unlikely), then I think it might be a process that is causing the download to close without completing. I've had problems a little like this with stuff crashing on mine and not opening properly. Try control alt and delete and check the proccesses and get back to me. safe bruv!

Well...I have two tips. One is to download Mozilla Firefox cuz I swear by it. Two is to download Bitdefender Internet Security. Ummm, I'll be vague considering this site has mad posts...PM me for info on "obtaining" it after you download. Just google Bitdefender Internet Security 10. Trust me, I've hit up tons of anti-virus/spyware/firewall programs over the years and Bitdefender takes the cake. Google it, download the trial (30 days) and I'll hit you up with "more info." Never go out-of-date, anti-virus wise. Too many losers out there with nothing better to do than program trojans to rock your comp. I'll hit you up tomorrow with the goods. Peace.

I'll second that. get Firefox anyway if you dont already have it, its far less susceptible to viruses & spywear. Spybot or Zonealarm are good anti virus/spy software, but I'm using Norton which hasnt let me down yet.

Yep. I have found out that it is for SURE a virus. A) I have some crazy hidden files in my c drive. I just deleted like 10-15 bogus files. A lot of them are not letting me delete them. I have one thing that says, password.txt and when you try to open it, my computer asks me which program to open it with. Obviously the .txt extension is bogus. Plus any programs I try to run, besides internet explorer.....it says "you do not have free memory to run this program." I have 256mb mem, plus another 512mb added sd ram. I should have PLENTY. So I really don't know what the fuck to do.....I can't download shit. ;\
