Updates will resume in the near future.

January 1st:

In 2008 Chicagoans mourned the loss of Brian Blackeye, the city's first and primary hardcore-jungle MC. To initiate the preservation of his memory in 2009 and beyond, we present the final recording of the full C.H.A. lineup: JJ Jellybean, DJ Snuggles, and MC Blackeye. These previously unreleased tapes were submitted by Dubshack and are exclusive to GoldenEraJungle.com

Blackeye, this one's Y.O.U.

How many official versions of 'Super Sharp Shooter' have been released?

I've seen references to Super Sharp Shooter http://www.discogs.com/release/978 and Super Sharp Shooter (Remix) http://www.discogs.com/release/5664. Any difference between the two? The only versions I've heard were the long & short versions on the Ganja Cru EP.

Cheers,

Fluff

I've got the Short & Sharp version on CD. I'll try and rip it sometime.
Its near identical to the normal version (on the CD) but obviously a bit shorter.

From what I can rememeber there's the long, short. I'm not sure which plate it was but the version where there's multiple gunshots at the drop and there there's a dread style b-line- Like Bwaaaap, bwaap, bwaap. Or sumpthin smiley

yeah most DJ's had a dubplate that spelt their name out, not just Mickey.

It's from a LL Cool J Cut where he just runs down the alphabet acapella ,so anyone can make one for their set, shouldn't be too hardsmileysmileysmiley.

the version on the EP is clean as well I think, i.e Method mans cussing bleeped out.

theres another version of Super Sharp Shooter on this:http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/breakdown/bdrlp009

..it's credited as the original but it's like a copyright free version where all the vocal samples have been revoiced, sounds wack imo.

Interesting. Thanx for that lil tidbit. Which LL was it? I used to have all of his original shit when I was listening to Run-DMC and the Fatboys when I was like 8. My favorites until MC Hammer took over my boom box. Hammer. Sorry.

It's this one "it get's no ruffer". "The A, The B...The Y, The Z / It's all bullshit to me."

tell me about it man!, I don't work for everybody ,Jumping Jack Frost made one and just sounded silly - too many letters.

God there are quite a few versions of that tune. To be honest i wouldnt get too excited about it though, its a bit crap! Alright, it was popular at the time but the jump up period was the worst time in jungle. You still hear that tune coming from boy racers cars around London, its always on those crap compilation CD'd that you can get in HMV - Ultimate D&B etc. Bollocks mate! Try tunes like "Truly One" and "Lighter" from around the same period. Far more serious! Super Sharp Shooter reminds me of clowns wanking or something...
