February 23rd:

Updates will resume in the near future.

January 1st:

In 2008 Chicagoans mourned the loss of Brian Blackeye, the city's first and primary hardcore-jungle MC. To initiate the preservation of his memory in 2009 and beyond, we present the final recording of the full C.H.A. lineup: JJ Jellybean, DJ Snuggles, and MC Blackeye. These previously unreleased tapes were submitted by Dubshack and are exclusive to GoldenEraJungle.com

Blackeye, this one's Y.O.U.

While we seem to be dangerously leaning towards the politics side of conversation, I figured I'd throw this in. I mean TELL ME that a few of you weren't baffled when you saw Common bustin' a freestyle to a Gap ad. Is this a good move? I can't tell. lol. smiley

We all have to eat, mayne...
Yeah, I don't think I'll ever be comfortable seeing Common do Gap ads. But the way the music business is, I don't blame him at all for having a side hustle.
It could be worse, he could be a walking advertisement for Bathing Ape like every other rapper out there.

Bathing Ape is this clothing company from Japan that somehow managed to convince everybody that since Pharell & anybody else marginally hip out there (check your favorite D&B mc's) you too, should pay over $400 for a hoodie or shirt. And their kicks are butt, too; also $$$. They are the wackest of the wack out there. Nothing more than good PR & hype. It's pretty big out here in California & NY.
Just look at a photo of Pharell & Kanye. Chances are high they're rockin' Bathing Ape.

You might as well get used to it. The older you get the more money you have. The more money you have the more the MFers in the corporate world target you, and they know their business. The idea of "mainstream" changes with every generation. Our generation's "underground" scene (hip hop, electronic, hard core, punk) has been mainstream for quite a few years now. No matter how music changes I'll still love the music from my generation thus you get the "golden era" in jungle. I won't be listening to my parents or my kids music as much as the music I grew up with. If I here more and more of my music in the mainstream media all the better. Then I just get to here the music I love more often. As for Common, nigga's got a make a livin. Good for him. He's makin more money in one day of shooting than I do all year probably.

EXACTLY.
I'm not knocking Common for doing his thing & getting paid for it. It's obviously not his motive to convince everybody that the Gap is cool (that's gap inc's josmiley Common's just tryin' to eat.
Although I WILL clown him for making "Be". Because that shit just sucked. In fact; I'm gonna clown Common until he gets NOI.D. to do beats for him again. But, that'll probably never happen.
