Hey!
I'm looking for some way to produce good bass via my PC to accompany my sequences (Cubase SX). I'm well versed in sampling, sequencing, breaking samples, etc, but have no bass. I have a simple setup - it consists of my computer and Cubase SX. I'm wondering if anyone on here knows of a simple application that produces good bass sounds that can interface with my cubase sequences. As you can tell from my setup, I appreciate simplicity & would like to maintain that disposition if at all possible. I'm not interested in "Reason" and the like - I intend to buy pricy hardware at some point, but am looking for something to suffice in the interim. Hopefully someone understands what I'm after.
Thanks!

i just got the "MASSIVE" software synth. It's got some pretty ridiculous bass....and works w/ cubase...also if you want some fat oldschool bass just use a TR 808 kick drum and keymap it across a range of keys. Boom!

I've tried a whole bunch of synths and I can say only one word: ALBINO. Load a pre-made bass preset, tweak filter envelope and cutoff frequency to fit your needs and vuala: Seba-like low-midrange bass is ready!

Another good one is the WASP VST plugin.....i've used it in Fruity Loops but I think it works in Cubase too maybe....it's a tone generator with like 3 oscillators and filters....good bass maker indeed... |

Burnrate & others - Thanks for the help. All I need now is a plugin that automatically administers large doses of powerful, illegal drugs to help me cope with my aging, piece of shit computer.

Haha! I had that same problem with my first PC, which wasn't fit for the dumpster. 450mhz Pentium with 128mb ram! I bought a cheap soundcard and it improved things drastically. It took a lot of the strain off the processor and therefore I could use more VSTs without the damn thing crashing. Have you got yourself a soundcard? I forgot to ask. Having one could help things

My sound card is shite but I'm holding out for a new machine before I invest much in the disgrace I'm running at this point.
