In 2008 Chicagoans mourned the loss of Brian Blackeye, the city's first and primary hardcore-jungle MC. To initiate the preservation of his memory in 2009 and beyond, we present the final recording of the full C.H.A. lineup: JJ Jellybean, DJ Snuggles, and MC Blackeye. These previously unreleased tapes were submitted by Dubshack and are exclusive to GoldenEraJungle.com
here's from a Dextrous interview on planetdnb.com - about the Rites of Passage CD:
17) Question from Steve J: Why did the track, Moonlight, only get as far as the Rites of Passage promo cd and not on a full release?
"Moonlight was scheduled for release on Suburban Base back in 1995. Things went a little pear shaped and then it was supposed to come out through BMG but that didn’t quite work out. I must have done about 3 different mixes on it with different Ragga MCs but they didn’t see daylight. I remember going out last year and hearing someone play it on Dubplate, and it getting rewound. It was nice hearing it after all this time. I still wish to release this, as I’m in the middle of reissuing some back catalogue, so it’s on the cards. As for this ‘Rites of Passage’ promo CD; this is the second time of heard of this! It’s nothing I have anything to do with or have sanctioned! I’d still like to get to the bottom of this one…!
*as mentioned in the initial thread about this interview, nu-urban will pick up this release, but the release date is tentative at this time."
