So its starting to happen and after months of failure I'm about halfway thru my first tune that dont sound completly shit lol..
This is my problem..
I cant find the program to suit me...
I love the recycle/dr rex thing but i cant stand the rest of reason..
didnt dig acid, and cubase just seemed out of my league coz I'm a noob to producing..
Bin useing ableton which I love but I cant seem to find an intuitive way of mashing/chopping drumz init.. Is there a way ?? anyone know??
Does rewire work well?? Is there other great sequencers which will see rex files that I can then rewire with ableton??
Or is there another prog that I should get into??
any thoughts or suggestions.. |

You should try FL Studio. I prefer Cubase SX though (so does DJ SS)

You can automatically load up rex files into Cubase project via pool. Very easy. You just need a good computer, because it demands a very good hardware. You'll need a good VSTi sampler too.

Launch your rewire host software, then launch reason. Enable rewire inputs in host software, then route your Dr. Rex loop player in Reason into rewire outputs, so ableton can recieve it. I guess that's what you're talking about.

Personally I rewire rex players from reason into Logic 7. Also, you can import Rex files directily into logic and rearrange them there too.....

Does it look like re-arranging pieces of wave or you are manipulating notes? In Cubase SX you can re-arrange REX slices like waveforms, so then it comes to overlapping this is real pain in the ass! I wish I could mash-up rex loops while manipulating notes...
P.S>
I can bet that samplers like HALION can do that. Can they?
