Hey, shout out to all you Junglists and Junglettes out there.
Just happened to be browsing the web and came across this site. I actually just got my computer a couple of months ago and am just importing my first tape as I write this.
I am wondering if anyone has any advice on importing and editing tapes.
I have an iMac and am using Roxio CD Spin Doctor. One thing I'd like to know is (with this program or any others) if it is worth it to filter the recordings? My program has some features for reducing hiss and crackles (LPs). I've only just imported some records and have listened to it in its original and filtered versions and haven't made up my mind which sounds better.
Anyway, hopefully I'll be able to put something on the site by tomorrow (Mystical Influence, 1994).
It is a studio mix tape, no mc.
I think it will be a blast to see what types of tracks and styles the folks on this site are really into. Personally, I'm REALLY INTO RAGGA and dark shit.
I had started with a DR. NO tape but found that it is quite wobbley. Which leads me to another question: Any ideas of fixing tapes that are "wobbley" or a little mangled?
