I wouldnt ask for this site to use any bandwidth for new skool ragga dub from torontos Marcus Visionary. I personally vouch for the dubplates and releases on this set. Im not to sure some people here might be keeping their ears towards future, so take a taste of what Im looking forward to. Full-circle business, quality production with the old skool ragga vibe.

finally, someone atleats came with review.

goldenera of jungle is sweet, but im still part of the party scene in Toronto, and its too good here to not be going out. Mainstream clubs lick balls compared to a proper jungle/dnb jam.

Klassik - it must be different for you as you saw the whole evolution happen. i'm sure you heard in the 90's that jungle had ruined hardcore --- you know, their are people who think Remarc is a total cock-sucker for fucking up traditional hardcore. back up a couple years and you obviously had people blaming hardcore for the destruction of acid house.

1. it's a matter of opinion --- if i don't like the taste of something, i don't eat it. it's not a matter of being narrow-minded.

2. i've noticed that people in it from the beginning are more likely to stay with the current. some people are true nightlife fanatics and some people just really like to DJ - it's a part of their life that is going to weather change. for me it's 100% about the music.

now... Digital Soundboy is a cool thing. i could imagine how you'd be pumped (Klassik) about attending events with these types of tunes - def. a switch in vibes. But to me Digital Soundboy is the same D'nB that's been happening for the last few years infused with ragga. it's one loop! over and over and over and over. def. some high quality shit though.

but that's cool with me. the reason "golden era jungle" is so legendary is its wild originality. 93-96 was really an anomaly in hardcore/drum & bass. you can't go and "re-originalize" a genre of music - the crazy jungle sound belongs in the early 90's... so i understand what Digital Soundboy is all about, i just don't really like the taste.

i think it's high time to originate something new - not mixing and matching genres of jungle - but something that has never been done before. just like jungle was in the early 90's. i've got my ideas.

by the way - i didn't even know that Digital Soundboy's Marcus was like... Delerium's Marcus - that's pretty crazy3

but anyway, maximum respect Klassik

sounds like someone could start lecturing at a University about raveology smiley Nice post.

My tastes have evolved personally, cuz when i started in 97 I just missed the whole "golden era" production of jungle. Apart from some notable releases (walk with your friends etc). Everything came to pass.

My heart still belongs to ol skool bloodclot jungle techno, but give me a rolling bassline and a amen and ima kick-step till I fall over.

It took me quite a while to get use to the nu sound and production. Wasnt too fond of the chainsaw massacre beats will flying on euphoric stimulantes. Never did have the vibe 94 jungle brings you. For a while I hated it, but I wasnt gonna start raving at the age of 10 to be witness to jungle tracks being dropped fresh of the press in 1994. smiley I waited till i was 14.. smiley

Nu skool to me is like going to a mosh-pit to let off some steam. The ol skool ragga vibe that people are bringing back is a bit of a release from most of the Uk trying to be bigger and darker and more over the top.

But everything IMO in DNB has come full-circle just like House music has. The sub-genres have been set in stone for anyone to produce a type of track that tickles their fancy. And jungle/dnb is no diffrent. I dont think you can evolve a muscial platform more then when it finally reaches full circle and starts using production techniques and samples of the past.

UKgarage= Dubstep & Grime LMAO

I commend the artists who are now tryin to bring back the old sound with the nu hardware. But I wont expect the old crowd to accept it as nu-breed jungle. That was 92-96. Its now 2006 and I look forward to purchasing new releases finally instead of searching for people trade classic records or worse. (EBAY) smiley Blackcrack 4 life.

Junglist are you ready!!!
