i swear i knew i'd catch it for that one... the extravagant building rolls are just too much for me... give me some meat-and-potatos, mom-and-pop fills and builds. the horse-drawn kind.

By the way, I totally meant that "The Bomber" is a not-so-subtle hammer that hits you over the head (metaphorically, of course).
I definitely do not think that you need to be hit with a hammer.

Aphrodite has spun every *gangsta rap* classic in existance. lol. Why do the beats sound corny and mainstream to me? Can somebody help me UNDERSTAND.  I kind of class Aphrodite up with AK1200.

I'm with Hook on this one. Other than "Man of Steel", "I Got 5 On It", "Ready Or Not" and "Dopeman"...I can't stand Aphrodite. Too happy for me. Definitely gotta question the comparison to AK1200 though. I mean, I guess the bassline on Drowning is KINDA close but ehhh. Don't think aphrodite is comparable to any other artist. I don't mean that in a good way HAHA. They definitely get their props for a solid few though.

Aphrodite was good when he sampled other peoples stuff. When he started doing all of his own it got a bit old, most tracks soud the same. I have to admit though "sometimes" is a floor filler every time!!! |

Discogs shows a lot of hits for "bomber" but only a couple for "the bomber"

It was released twice on Aphrodite Records. The second one is mastered better, from what I hear, and is also easier to find, and is also the copy that I have:

The B side to this release is "So You Gotta." It's a female vocal, uplifting, atmospheric stepper. It's actually not bad.

The scene in Toronto is strong and the Vinyl Syndicate DJs, shop and distribution set ups play a key role in the Canada Drum and Bass scene. With special tracks like 'Man of Steal' being released on Urban Takeover, look forward to some great releases in the future. not to spot light you or anything just i used to have that track and i knew it was from urbantakeover but didnt think aphro produced it. |
