JUNGLE FEVER ON ICE
We arrived early and was greeted by small queues and friendly security. The venue was extra large but that didn't make any difference, the jungle fever crew rammed it as usual.
The sound and stage set-up was wicked, lazers and lights were built up gradually, not giving too much away to begin with.
Tonic & Pressure X warmed tings up nicely with Remadee & Times 2 getting the crowd in the mood.
Next up Mampy Swift & Younghead, with Navigator flashing nuff ruff lyrics, sending the crowd into a lighter flashing, horn blowing frenzy. Ruff set by both D.J's. Unfortunately, arena 2 was V.I.P's only, probably due to it's small size, we caught sight of M.C Ryme Tyme and thanks to him, we got in, nuff respect.
We caught the end of D.J Ash, and the beginning of Trace & Footloose, sounding ruff, but we had to get back to the rest of our crew in the main arena.
By this time Hype & Randall were caning the audience wicked, when Grooverider stepped up, we walked up the steps to the top back of the arena, looking down onto the stage. The Ragga Twins, Five 0 & Navigator were jumping about like lunatics,
chucking the mic to each other; Ruff chat with plenty of stamina, which sounded wicked over Grooveriders selection.
Brockie & Det. were dropin ruff dub plates to the still rammed dancefloor. Wicked clean mixing by all concerned on the decks with all M.C's on top form creating the vibe and atmosphere second to none.
This was definately one of the best party's of the year, if you don't no, get to no Kool FM & Promise givin you yer moneys worth.
Dark Noise Original & 'K'. Respect going out to the D.P.D Crew, the Atmosphere
Crew & everyone on Kool FM 94.5!!!
QUEST & FIBRE OPTIC
THE PROMISED LAND
THE SANCTUARY
We arrived at the Sanctuary at 10:30 after queuing for 10 mins. We got in to hear Slipmat playing an early set which amazed me. The venue was set out well with giant inflatables, the best dancers i've seen in a while, a huge range of lights and lazers and to top it all off, Fred Flintstone was on stage!!!
Wicked sets by Grooverider, Ratty Pilgrim, Fallout, Tango, Micky Finn and not forgetting Dougal & Sy on the happy tip.
In arena 2 the music was mainly drum & bass from such names as Darren Jay, Donovan Badboy Smith, Nexus, Hype, Ned Ryder and Ragga Paz with Techno from Clarke & happy frum vibes, Respect to all promoters involved and everyone who was there...Frank.
UNITED DANCE/TEMPTATION
(STEVENAGE ARTS AND RECREATION CENTRE)
After the short drive to Stevenage we arrived at the venue for the 3rd time hoping this one would be as good as the last. Entering the venue after a brief search by some of the friendliest security i have seen in a long time. ( Nice one! ).
We entered the main arena to see yet another wicked transformation of the massive venue already with an atmosphere starting to get going. The screens stretched 100 ft across the venue with the stage in the middle backed by a superb lighting show with a wicked lazer. 1st on was D.J Vibes wicked set, then came Unity...another exellent set.
Ellis D came on next and got the place jumping then Miickey Finn tore the place up with some wicked jungle...respect for that! D.J Slam was next the United Dance resident...got the place rockin' - wicked set enjoyed by all,one to look out for in the future.
Dougal next played for the crowd and well enjoyed it. Hype back with some exellent scratching respect due! Rat Pack suprised everyone covering for D.J Sy. It's not often a promoter payes extra cash for someone when a D.J doesn't turn up, respect Everson and Mark, wicked set.
Then came the one and only . . . Slipmatt, as normal totally kicked the place, playing drum and bass to start with, then dropped the happy and everyone showed their respect with an extreem amount of noise made! A good night enjoyed by all, respect to everyone who was there...you made it a blinding night ...can't wait for the next one!!! (Friday 30th September. . . check the flyer!).
Respect Chris Brown, United Dance, D.J Slam, M.C Vocal, Emma, M.C MC, Patrick, Steph, Mark, and everyone else who turned up. M.C Jester.
DREAMSCAPE X 11
(THE AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY SHOW-CASE BY THE HARDCORE J & RO).
How many? Yes folks, Dreamscape again was the bollox!!! Can Seduction play? Has the Pope a finger missing??? Seduction played & it was 'ard mate! The set up was mad, a large central cemi-circular stage with untold speakers and a loud as you want system. Next D.J up wasthe good old vibes from our home town of Southend, believe, he was wicked.
Clarkee Teknod well 'ard from 12 - 1 coz Easygroove wasn't around but the place still stomped to the Tekno wizard, Then Hype ruffled things up. I don't think Ellis Dee turned up either, coz, Dougal played from 2 - 4 playing a hard set followed by a well apriecated blast from the past, Dreamscape was in

unison... I'm telli' ya! Then Slipmatt played a kin 'ard set not giving anyone a rest. Next up . . . Sy who came on one hour early and nuked the place.
Last but not least the one and only Grooverider respect, but, due to unforseen circumstances I had to Grooveriders set from my car! Basically the place rocked from beginning to end. D.J of the night for my dollar. . .Seduction. . . and thats it, until then, respect to the Hardcore designs & Atmosphere
Cru, Ro, Nightmare Blake & Vall. I would like to add that although I say Seduction was the man of the night, Grooverider, Sy and all the other D.J's on the night have given me incredible amounts of mental musical mind orgasms, as follows. . . Sy Kenetic/Fusion, Dougal - Dreamscape 8 - New Years Eve, Grooverider - Dreamscape 8. I must say if you aint heard Grooverider Dreamscape 8 then you aint fuckin lived!!! Listen and be taken to the planet fuckin 'ard!!! Time to live people, NOW is the time to live!
RETURN OF THE ARK
( ADLIB AUGUST 29TH )
The Ark has come to Adlib and has changed for the better. Fank fuck! Previous to this the Ark at Monroes slowly died, but on mon 29th august the Ark took off again.
We, thats me, DNO, Caren & Nightmare got in at about 10:30, Ratty was playing & the people were having a good time, nobody gave a shit!!! People were crowding the dancefloor and even the people walking about were dancing about.
On came L T J, and it was the sounds of the deepest jungle, the Southend massive were in apparent unity. Slipmatt came on at 1 o clock, and didn't play his usual style, but played 100 % jungle set. There was a House bit upstairs but to me, thats nasty, so i stayed with the 'ardcore! Anyway, 2 sum up the ; system - loud 'n' uff music - ruff 'n' uff people - happy E nuff! Verdict... Safe nuff. VOODOO MAGIC
(EQUINOX 28TH AUGUST)
This being the second event from Moving Shadow and anyone who witnessed the first would have known what to expect. The night started at 12'0'clock which in my opinion is about the right time. We entered at about 1'o'clock, to catch the last half hour of Hypes set with some wicked scratching and mixing, and a dancefloor already full!
The venue itself is very smart with a top level over-looking the dancefloor, nice comfortable seats and enough bars to get drinks from. Kenny Ken steps up and along come the jungle followed by Randall, who rocked it in his usual way.
Then the sound engineer turned up the system almost double the volume , everyone went wild!
Now, next up was a man who's been doing very well for himself on the production side of things, and now as a D.J is doing just as well. His set had to be the best of the night! His name?...Andy C All I can say is watch out Randall.
P a's for the night were Asend and Ultravibe who played "Dread Bass" and " What kind of world" to name a few with
some rough , exclusive mixes. Also Nookie performed playing Ray Keiths "Terrorist". Towards the end came Fabio who played well followed by J J Frost who bought a good end to the night, so i'm told!!!
This had to be the best party all year, Voodo Magic 29th May being the second best. Respect to Rob & Steve ( section five records ) Yet again another proper night out!!! Bazil.
MYSTICISM
BANK HOLIDAY SUN AUG 12TH.
Arrived in Margete about 2:30 pm. The venue was a night club along the sea front appropriatley named Buzz! There were two rooms, upstairs junglism verses downstaires Happyism, which I thought was a good idea because you keep everybody happy. Anyway D J wise they had the likes of Slipmatt who played in both rooms and definately dropped a wicked drum and bass set as well as ramming up the happy room and elevating the whistle and white glove possee to full effect. Other happy DJ's - Vibes, Dougal and Pooch producing the usual standard quality of set to keep the crowd going.
Atmosphere's very own D J Red played up there dropping a hot set, respect to the lady! Local boy's D J's Tyme, Trance and Demo played also. Upstairs in the junglism room you had the man himself...Randall, who played last slot, need I say more? Kenny Ken, Brockie, Ron and Cool Breeze provided a wicked line - up with some killer tunes and mixing going down.
The whole day was well organised with no trouble and a good atmosphere, worth the money. Looking forward to any future events, I think the Mysticism Crew may be doing an all - nighter in Folkstone... See you there...

BUKEM AND THE CREW RETURN AGAIN WITH ANOTHER SMOOTH ROLLIN' SLAB. TYPICAL GOOD LOOKING PRODUCTION OF NICE STRINGS, HOOK'S & EASY GOING DRUMS. A LOT OF PEOPLE TRY TO IMITATE THIS STYLE OF MUSIC, BUT I FIND BUKEM AND HIS BOYS ARE STILL THE ONLY ONES TO PERFECT IT. NOT SURE WHEN RELEASED - BUT SHOULD BE SOON.

SLIPMATT Reveiws
SMD #4 The A side of this record has been around for ages on dubplate. If your into SMD tunes you will definately like this one. The A side is a sort of remix of #1 and the AA is a totally new track in a typical SMD style, with plenty of beats and riffs. Due for release in the middle of Spetember, this looks like another bestseller.
DJ's unknown Vol 4 - Homegrown Records The next slice of happiness in the DJ's unknown series. This is another record that has been on dub and promo for a while. Both sides of this are quality rave. From stabs to timestretches through to the most uplifting piano and vocals. I'm sure this one will be their biggest record yet.
DJ Force and the Evolution - High on Life - Kniteforce Records This East Coast group have a definate style of their own, with plenty of good tunes under their belt. Hard breakbeats, heavy basslines and the happiest of piano and rave noises. Both sides of this 12" are enough to kick any happy crowd. Watch out for another project of theirs on Universal Records.
Druid and Vinyl Groover - Kounter Attack - Hectic Records These boys from the South Coast have both done the business on seperate projects, and now the combination looks set to be a stormer. The track starts with a beat, then goes into a typical hardcore breakdown which usually moves the crowd, and then takes you on a journey of stomp and strings. Absolutely excellent track, as are the two on the flipside. This is hardcore at its best.
Seduction and Dougal - Impact Records What a duo. The bouncy style of Dougal with the quality and energy of Seduction, on a record label that has never failed to please. Both sides are full on from start to finish, 4 to the floor all the way. This can only be one of the bigger tunes for 94. If you don't like this, you don't like 94 hardcore.
DJ Eruption - In Jeopardy - United Dance Records From United Dance the rave comes United Dance the record label. In Jeopardy is the first release of many on this new label. It is a combination of styles, starting quite dark and haunting, then moving into an uplifting happy style via various breakbeats and bass slides. Definately a good start to a new name in record labels.

TRAX COMPILED BY FRENZIC
FOUL PLAY 4 - MOVING SHADOW
This being their first release in over a year on A-side is the infamous 'Being with You' which has been on plate since December last year and is much, much sought after and on flip is 'Music is the Key' featuring the live vocal talents of Denise Gordon - absolutely fandabydoscious 12/10.
DEAD DREAD - DREAD BASS - MOVING SHADOW
Well what can I say! Except if you haven't heard this you better pull out your old Elvis Presley tracks and get rockin'. Well what the time do you have there Dread with a gunman to back me up around the corner - Tearin' man 20/10.
DEEPER LIFE - BACK 2 BASICS
Promo's released on the brightest green vinyl you could imagine and as yet has no release date set, but believe me this tune is ruff, long intro going into some killer beats - wheel up 10/10.
DJ HYPE - ROLL THE BEATS REMIX -SUB BASE
This one's absolutely T for tremendous carrying on in the same style as the original but not as much GQ lyrics, harder drums and a more twisted b-line - in the shops soon. 10/10.
EZ ROLLERS REMIX - MOVING SHADOW
Original has been around from quite a time now and this remix is done by dropping science and foul play, my personal fave is the foul play mix which has a very groovy feel to it but both sides of good quality - recommended 9/10
FLEX RECORDS 003 - RETREAT
L Double & crew show why they are fast becoming producers to be reckoned with this tear up track starts with ragga lyrics flowing through with some nice amen a definate jump up 10/10 also check nasty jungle flex records 002
PHAT & PHUTURISTIC-MATT-BEAR NECESITIES
different style of beats incorporating the boom-wicked. start to finish some different business 10/10
IQ RECORDS - THE HITMAN
Don't know much about this except its rumoured to be by Sponge & Cuckoo. Starts with mashed up music box beat then amen straight from Terrorist but it is tuff with crazy bells and a mad screechy string, sounds like it could be quite a large one - watch the ragga lyrics 9/10.
DEE JAY RECORDINGS - ATLAS
Starts with chopped "Take Me Up" beats and amen soon to follow, nice b-line and a groovy string quite a slammer - check it out 9/10.
DJ TRACE - COFFEE, FULL OF FLAVA MIX - LUCKY SPIN
Wicked chopped beats with bundles of maracas, then breaks into an old stylee riff, proper uplift - buy on sight 10/10.
FORMULA 7 & NICKY BLACKMARKET MANIACS 1 - QUAYSIDE RECORDS
In my opinion one of the best releases from the Quayside stables yet!! Good rollin intro on a nice vibe going into amen and flowing form there really. B-side on same tip but a few more vocals. 10/10.
DJ GUNSHOT - REMIX NO - U - TURN.
This label needs no hype after some of their recent releases. Both A and B sides are remixes of Wheel Up, from DJ Gunshot, I personally prefer the B side mix plenty of smash up amen, but unfortunately not a great amount difference from the original 8/10.
T- POWER - THE ELEMENTAL - SOUR.
I wasn't a great lover of previous releases on this label, but this one has definately changed my mind. Wicked groovy style track which just flows from beginning to end with plenty of intelligence... in the shops soon 9/10.
